Prologue

The Beginning of a Nightmare

It was a nightmare. Just a nightmare, Roxy tried to convince herself.

Though no matter how many times she tried to convince herself, she knew she couldnt fool herself.

She always woke up from these nightmares screaming and sweating as if she had just sprinted seven miles straight. No matter how many times she had the nightmare, she would always wake up to find her memory blank on the matter, but she knew it was always the same one.

Roxy was partially relieved by this.

Its probably better that I dont remember anyway. Still, Ive been having these dreams a lot lately. Its strange…

For Roxy, these nightmares had started a few years ago and she would have them every so often. But they were becoming more and more frequent now, almost every night.

Roxy began to think out loud. She was alone in her room except for her faithful companion who slept on the ground beside her bed; her dog Artu.

I wonder do these dreams have some connection between them? she wondered.

After a few more minutes of sitting deep in thought, she decided that she was obviously thinking too far into the matter and shrugged the whole idea out of her head.

Just a nightmare she told herself one last time as she tried to get comfortable, tossing and turning. At one point she glanced at the clock sitting on her nightstand. It read 4:03 a.m.

She noted the time mentally, though she wasnt completely sure why.

After some time, Roxy finally drifted into sleep, unaware of the fact that she would continue the same nightmare.

Lightning flashed outside, followed by the peaceful sound of rain.

Many dimensions away, an evil plot was stirring, just waiting to open its jaws to strike in action.

This is only the beginning

Indeed, this is only the beginning of our tale. A hidden truth is yet to be revealed. This is the story of The Last Fairy of the Earth.

Fairies are indeed real more real than you could ever imagine. Roxy will soon discover this.
